ATANGA LAW OFFICE was established in June 2008 by knowledgeable Solicitors and Advocates of the Cameroon Bar Association with experience gathered from other firms in Cameroon and abroad. Its partners boast of sound academic training in national and foreign law schools. As a full service law firm, ALO offers a wide range of legal services largely appreciated by its clients. Though young, its partners are smart and experienced having practised in other firms in Cameroon for at least a decade. As a bilingual law practice in a bi-jural system, ALO concentrates on International Commercial and General Corporate Law grounded in the harmonized laws of the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business laws in Africa (OHADA). Our firm represents clients from several countries. Our mastery of the English and French languages enables us to communicate complex concepts to the firm’s clientele and to interpret French or English statutes easily.

In the last five years, ALO has represented and diligently assisted countless physical and moral clients before our local courts in many law related aspects be they criminal or civil. Besides, the firm has incorporated several companies in Cameroon, carried out due diligence for foreign investors, credit transactions, loan syndication and assignment, legal audit of pro-forma contracts, registration and deregistration of aircraft in the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) and conducted searches in the aircraft registry of the CCAA. We have equally counseled clients in research on legal problems related to secure lending in Cameroon. We regularly assist clients in effecting mortgages, interpretation and implementation of surety bonds and the realisation of business pledges, satellite and earth station surveys, encryption surveys and, money transfer regulatory environment review.         We carry out consultancy assignments on forestry exploitation, diamond exploitation, employee share plans, restructuring and rights under share plans, withholding and tax obligations regarding employees, restructuring of companies.

 

ALO is also licensed by the African Intellectual Property Organisation (OAPI) to practice as Intellectual Property Law consultants. In this regard, the firm has registered several trade marks, service marks, designs, new plant varieties, trade names, utility models and patents at OAPI. Intellectual Property related litigation such as invalidation proceedings against trade marks and all other infringement proceedings before our courts are regular legal services on our menu.
